The Samsung Galaxy XCover7 5G (SM-G556B) is a rugged Android smartphone designed for durability and use in demanding environments. It features a 6.6-inch FHD+ TFT display with a 1080 × 2408 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The screen also supports increased touch sensitivity for use with gloves, making the phone particularly suited to fieldwork and industrial environments. The device measures 169.0 × 80.1 × 10.2 mm and weighs approximately 240 grams.

The XCover7 is powered by an octa-core processor with CPU speeds of up to 2.2GHz and comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 1TB. It supports 5G Sub-6GHz connectivity, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS and a USB Type-C connection. The phone also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports dual-SIM functionality through a nano-SIM and eSIM, depending on market availability.

For photography, the Galaxy XCover7 has a 50MP f/1.8 rear camera with autofocus and an LED flash, while the front-facing camera is 5MP with an f/2.0 aperture. Video recording supports Full HD at 30 frames per second, and the rear camera does not include optical image stabilization. The phone is equipped with a 4,050mAh removable battery, with Samsung rating it for up to 20 hours of LTE internet use, up to 21 hours of Wi-Fi internet use, and up to 18 hours of video playback under its specified test conditions.

As a rugged device, the Galaxy XCover7 is built to withstand harsher conditions than a typical smartphone and carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It was originally launched with Android 14, but Samsung's current update records show that the SM-G556B has received Android 16 updates, including a July 2026 security update.
